While functionally, cloud hosting is identical to traditional shared sever hosting, by spreading the hosted resources across multiple machines and physical networks, the platform is a lot more reliable as there there is a massively reduced potential for the service to fail. By configuring our services in this way, we are also able to add and remove resources as demand requires, without causing downtime. This allows your hosting to remain just as responsive during peak times or surges in demand.
A shared web hosting service is one where the customer does not have to worry about the servers or platform that the site is stored and running on. As a shared platform, we are responsible for maintaining the server operating systems and software. Your site will share resources with other sites, but as we do not over-subsribe resources and use the latest cloud technology, your website will still be fast and responsive.
VPS and Dedicated Servers give you control over the server operating system and software, and allow you to install your own software and configure the machine as you wish. This gives you full freedom over resource usage, but will also require more knowledge and configuration. The primary difference between VPS and Dedicated servers is that a VPS is a virtual machine running in the cloud, which share some infrastructure and resources with other virtual machines. A dedicated server is dedicated physical hardware, that we set up in our datacentre specifically for your exclusive use.
